God's Word
Hello
These are several verses I've come across in the Bible that I hope will help prepare us spiritually for the Mission Trip.
Proverbs 16: 3
"Put God in charge of your work,
then what you've planned will take place" The Message"Commit to the LORD whatever you do,
and your plans will succeed." NIV
Proverbs 3:5-6
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight"
Matthew 21: 21-22
"Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and it will be done. 22 If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer."
Proverbs 16: 9
"In his heart a man plans his course,
but the LORD determines his steps"
Luke 10: 38-42
"38 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!"
41 "Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her." TNIV
John 12: 27-28
"Now my heart is troubled, and what shall I say? 'Father, save me from this hour'? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour. 28Father, glorify your name!"
John 13: 35
"By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
John 15: 18-25
The World hates the disciples (us) because they do not know God (personally)
Habakkuk 3: 17-18
"Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
18 yet I will rejoice in the LORD,
I will be joyful in God my Savior."
Isaiah 40: 31
"but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
2 Timothy 1: 7
"For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline."
Psalm 46:10
"Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth."
1 John 3:19-22
" 19 This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence: 20 If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. 21 Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God 22 and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him." TNIV
The Love of God, 1 Corinthians 13:1-8
"1If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8Love never fails. "
This is it everyone. The long awaited Mission Trip has come.
Let us as a Cell Group keep one another in prayer, and be united in spirit - for we pray to the same God, have the same Spirit (of God, that is) and are part of the same Kingdom of God. So even to those not going to Cebu, (although it does not involve action) prayer is of key importance - that, I think we do not appreciate enough. I personally am not good at praying...
I thought about this for a while.
God is good, all the time
God is very good, all the time.
God is perfectly good, all the time.
So,
May we give God our five loaves and two fishes (which is our all) and may God use us as vessels for his mighty work!
God gave us his best, so we give him our best.
:)
I am a Blessing.
I am a Bridge.
I am a Catalyst to the peoples of Cebu.
Through the love of God,
I will embrace.
I will pray.
I will give generously of myself to others.
I will rightly represent God's character.
I will lay down my rights to serve others.
I will love people with God's love.
