My Post.
HI all!Is everybody enjoying life?
Gosh,my coach just told us that there'll be a u14's debate next month(just after exams). Can't relax,then.Sigh.And he made us stayback and extra day a week for extra training,(training is SIAN,trust me.Its non-stop until 7+,or later.)
I asked all of my classmates if they wanted to go for the PlayMax thing. One person is from YFC,so he was a host, thus he was obviously going.
Unfortunately, most of the class were rather hostile towards it.
They were like,"what's this about?"
I then told them its a carnival, and what to expect in the carnival.
They were like"hmm...I have a funny suspicion there's a motive in this.
St Andrew's Cathedral?
Short"notes"after every performance?
This is christian-related stuff,right?"
I then said:sort of.Don't worry.Just go there and you'll have lots of fun.
They said"im not spending my holidays going to some boring sermon place.Srooy.Go find someone else."
Two people asked to look at the brochure and then crumpled it and threw it.
There were four people who showed some form of interest in the carnival.Three of them were Atheists, and another was a christian.
I asked the christian if he had any questions about God.He said he had none.
When I approached the other three, they all had the same question:is this christian-based?Guess I suck at covering that part for the time being.
Surprisingly, they said that they were comfortable with a christian-based carnival, provided there's no long sermons, and as long as it is fun.Very fun.Ok.That'll be alright.
So most likely those four people would be going.
From this,I realised that its very hard to reach out to people, even when they have no influential relegion holding them down. Most of them have no religion, but still its so hard to even catch their attention for even a short while, let alone those who are tied down to their belief in their own fantstical god.
I now realise the difficulties I would face trying to preach to the non-christians in my host group. They would probably not listen to anyone, let alone a young boy like me.They probably came only to have fun.But there are always people who actually want to know mre about Jesus. They would be the ones who would listen. They would be the ones to understand. They would be the ones who would be saved. If one such person in the group starts to convert,it would be very influencial towards the others. That is our aim.For the world to be saved. We'll start right here in Singapore. We'll begin our quest for every created, loved and perfevtly made person on this entire earth to be saved. That is God's will.He died on the cross for a reason. He did not go through all the suffering he experienced just for fun.He wanted to save us.But if he do not believe,we would not be saved. The suffering Jesus went through would be in vain. But then, how would the people be able to believe if they don't hear about Him?How would they hear about Him if we do not preach?Us,the blessed ones who were given the opportunity to be saved, are obligated to go and preach, too! We are inclined to help others be saved!
We all have a part to play here.Even a young boy like me can at least try to spread the good news.We are OBLIGATED to preach the good news and allow other people to be saved. It is our duty, not our choice.
So all of you who are sitting comfortably in your couch, loafing about, have a thought for others, and GET UP!
Oh yeah,I forgot the 'Therefore go and make diciples of all nations...'verse.But you get the idea.
The Insane One,
Alex:)
