post 187
woah, we came a long way. Post 187 already! Let's continue this till the end of 2009 haha!
Anyway, i'm pretty inspired today. When my teacher came in, and plugged his laptop into the projector, i saw the " Our Daily Bread " website minimized. I knew he was a christian long ago, because i heard from the school counselor and because people can see it in him vividly, like this aura around him that when you look at him, you know his special than the other teachers. Yeah, truly, maybe this is what it means by living to God's standards instead of the World's standards. TO be different from the World, but similar to God's heavenly character.
You know, Joseph Chean challenged us to show Christ or to "spread" the good news when we work in different sectors next time for example " Arts and entertainment, Education etc.." Then he challenged us to think how we can do it now, then perhaps develop it next time. I think this is one really good example. From the tone my teacher talks, and from the way he packages himself as a teacher, really serve as a good example to Christians in my class. And i guess yeah, this is just like what Joseph Chean says. Not only that, some quotes that he use to give the class are directly taken from the Daily Bread. So when he gives a quote, it's rather easy to know whether it's from the Daily Bread.
But yeah, i mean, he is doing what we are challenge to do. To next time in the future, develop God into us, when we walk, dress and talk, we'll be able to show Christ in us, that we're special, and that we're walking by Faith for God, and not walking by the world standards. At the same time, he is able to develop God's word into his teachings, and this serves as a good reminder for Christians, esp those that use Daily Bread, to remember the teachings in the Daily Bread, and at the same time, take it as a learning process. This way, this won't be an ordinary english lesson, but yet, a lesson that i can meditate on God's words in the daily bread and see how i can apply it.
Yep, what a way to kick off the year!
But, i feel i should really apply this rule in my Life. While doing EXPERIENCING GOD for DG last week, the question really hit me hard. " Are you showing Christ by your actions " Or something along this line. Then i realise, actually i ain't even close to showing Christ by my actions, and yet i wanna talk about going to the major mission trip in June, and reach my hand out to the lost. When i wanna enter a land full for darkness, i wanna enter it with this bright light of mine. Even though i may only provide this small light to that country we're going, this light is still precious because it can expend and be shone throughout the country. But now, i really question whether i have even this small little light. Perhaps i do, but its this really tiny one, and what i really wanna do now is to develop this light, to make it brighter and stronger, to prepare myself for the major mission trip.
So my challenge for OAK is to develop this light in you, to make it shine brighter, and bigger so that when people look at you, they know you're different then they will start asking questions, to why they are different from you. That is the time where the Gospel will start flowing like rivers into people's minds. And that is the time, where you're prepared to spread the gospel, to reach out for the lost and the broken, behind the 4 walls of our church.
